I absolutely love engagement sessions, they give us such a unique way to really get to know each other, all while learning how a couple interacts with each other, posing they will use on their wedding day, and it really helps it sink in with couples that they are getting married!!

What a beautiful evening we had for Brian & Emily’s engagement session! We really had the best time- I think we laughed the entire night! We met out at Sweet Briar College- which is gorgeous anytime of the year- but especially in Fall! I cannot wait for their big day!!


Shawn & Kelsey: Eagle Rock Engagement Session

You guys! I am so excited to share this session with you! I may have driven into a ditch and had my car sideways on 3 wheels when I first met them (what an embarrassing phone call to a couple you've never met! ha!) but wow did we have a blast at their session! Everything about the night was so easy and we laughed so much! And to top it all off- they got into the stream on their property for the most romantic ending to a session ever! 

We did photos out at Shawn's property, which has been owned by members of his family in the past- and it was so great because he showed me some of the most beautiful spots and places around that he loved! Guys, I am not even kidding when I say this spot was beyond beautiful! Mountain Views, Weeping Willow Trees, tall grass, a stream, I was in heaven! And the best part is- they're having their wedding here!! Makes my heart SO happy!!

Monday Minute: Dreamy weddings and Mother's Day

It's a happy Monday & the sun is finally back out!! It's officially wedding season and we're squeezing in engagement sessions, bridal portraits, and fun wedding days! This past week, I headed out to Bedford for Ryan & Andrea's engagement session, and then to Roanoke for Josh and Jennifer's engagement session, and a fun bridal portrait session that I can't share yet! ;) 

We had such a great weekend! Saturday's wedding was like a fairy tale- Mike & Haley's big day was so gorgeous! All week it was calling for cooler weather and rain, but some how the weather totally changed and we had THE best weather ever! 

Sunday we celebrated Mother's Day. We had a slow morning, where Emmie & Mike made me breakfast in bed, stopped by the new house, and headed out to Afton Mountain for a wine tasting, picnic, and down time. We've been so busy lately with getting the house on the market, wedding season, and now packing up to get ready to move, that it was SO refreshing! 

And we even let Emmie pick up the camera and snap a few of us... hahaha!

When February in Central Virginia delivers 70 and 80 degree days- and you have an engagement session already scheduled- it's like the everything has aligned to be the perfect day! When the sun is shining and it's not freezing out- reminding us that Spring is coming, all I want to do is be out photographing, taking advantage of that sunshine! 

Aaron & Lauren's engagement session was so much fun! These two are getting married so soon at the end of the month at The Trivium Estate. I loved getting to know these two and their sweet little one! She was super sweet, giving me hugs in between being in the photos. We explored, chatted and laughed for their entire session. I'm so excited for their wedding!
