Ross & Shelley: A Trivium Estate Wedding in Goode, Virginia

Shelley is one of those brides that I wish I could clone! She's so sweet & laid back, absolutely gorgeous and cannot take a bad picture! Walking into the bridal suite that morning, her and her friends were getting ready together, laughing and so joyful for their friends! There wasn't any tension or nervousness in the room, at all! Even as she stepped into her elegant gown and the clouds started rolling in, she took it in stride and made the call to move the ceremony to the backup plan. One of the great things about The Trivium Estate is that their ballroom is so beautiful, even with having to move to an indoor ceremony, you're getting a gorgeous setting! 

After the ceremony, we grabbed some clear umbrellas and headed outside. Luckily, the rain ended up stopping and we laughed and enjoyed our portrait time together. After dinner, we ducked quickly outside for a few minutes and were greeted with a gorgeous sunset overlooking the Peaks of Otter Mountains.

Sam & Larissa's Summer Wintergreen Resort Wedding

We all kept looking at each other all day and saying, "This is July, right?!" The sky was gray and getting darker as we drove up the mountain to Wintergreen Resort in Central Virginia for Sam & Larissa's wedding. These two specifically chose this location because they wanted an outdoor wedding on the mountain overlook, which is just the most unreal view. Somehow, the clouds seemed to clear up just in time for their ceremony! It was beautiful and their guests- who came in from all over the place, were able to enjoy the view and the temps in the low 70's! My kind of July wedding! 

As soon as the ceremony ended, we were able to get through the family portraits, the wedding party, and 4-5 Bride & Groom photos when it started POURING. We ran inside and shortened cocktail hour so Sam & Larissa could visit with their guests and get to dinner! The rain finally stopped, and when we went back out for our sunset photos, we were greeted with a thick, moody fog.  I typically am not a moody photographer, but oh my goodness- these moments between the two of them alone, were beautiful and so romantic! 

Larissa was SO laid back and happy all day- seriously my IDEAL bride! I love brides that are joyful and laid back! They're able to fully enjoy their day and not be stressed out by the little details! They hired an amazing team of vendors & were able to fully trust and be present in all the moments of their big day!

James & Tresa: A Knights Gambit Vineyard Summer Wedding in Charlottesville, Virginia

When I first chatted with James & Tresa last year about their Knight's Gambit Vineyard wedding in Charlottesville, Virginia, I knew it was going to be an amazing day! And then after we took their engagement session last fall (view their Sweet Briar Autumn engagement session here!) I had been counting down the days! They initially fell in love with Knight's Gambit from the gorgeous location (OMG the views there!!) and after talking with the owners they knew they wanted to get married there! They really wanted a wedding location that was in nature, and had a laid back and family friendly feel- they found the perfect fit! 

James & Tresa initially met on Match.Com! Their first meeting they went on a short walk, that turned into over 3 hours talking and walking about Lake Elkhorn. They absolutely love going on adventures together, from hiking and camping, boating, biking, and even making adventures out of laying grass seed or making dinner. They really know how to have a blast together, out of the big and little moments! 

They were so excited to include all of their family in the wedding- including all of their nieces and nephews (10 kids in the wedding party alone!!) Their outdoor ceremony overlooked the vineyard and mountains, and their tent reception made everything feel intimate! This wedding was so gorgeous, fun and I'm so excited for these two!!

Intimate Sherando Lake Wedding || James & Claudia

James & Claudia planned the most perfect wedding celebration! They decided to do an elopement-style at a place that was near and dear to their hearts, Sherando Lake in Central Virginia. They had only the closest family members and friends there with them, and wait until you see the views! When we were there for their engagement session, they talked about how they just wanted a relaxing day to celebrate while feeling like they were at a back-yard BBQ and man, did they pull it off- plus they had a food truck serving dinner for everyone! YUM!!

On Sunny Slope Farm Wedding in Harrisonburg, VA || Cj & Danielle

Oh guys! This wedding is so gorgeous!! I am so excited to be sharing today!! Cj and Danielle got married at On Sunny Slope Farm in Harrisonburg, Virginia on Saturday! They were so lucky with the most amazing April weather, warm, sunny and in the 70's! Especially considering that it snowed in Central Virginia just 5 days before! 

I first met Danielle last year when I was visiting one of my old brides, turned friend, in Florida. Dani was her son's nanny and I was SO excited when she called and told me she had gotten engaged just a few months after my visit! We did their engagement photos out in the Harrisonburg area & I quickly fell in love with DJ & Dani as a couple! 

Our Associate Shooters, Rhiannon & Heather did such an amazing job! I loved going through all their images and seeing Cj & Dani's wedding- it really was almost like I was there! From seeing the excitement of the getting ready room, the anticipation of the first look, the joy of the ceremony, and the celebration during the reception! Dani made the most stunning bride- and wait until you see these sunset portraits! Oh my goodness! 

Congratulations CJ & Danielle! We are all so excited for you guys! Enjoy your honeymoon so so much! I cannot wait to hear how it goes!!
