Sam & Larissa's Summer Wintergreen Resort Wedding

We all kept looking at each other all day and saying, "This is July, right?!" The sky was gray and getting darker as we drove up the mountain to Wintergreen Resort in Central Virginia for Sam & Larissa's wedding. These two specifically chose this location because they wanted an outdoor wedding on the mountain overlook, which is just the most unreal view. Somehow, the clouds seemed to clear up just in time for their ceremony! It was beautiful and their guests- who came in from all over the place, were able to enjoy the view and the temps in the low 70's! My kind of July wedding! 

As soon as the ceremony ended, we were able to get through the family portraits, the wedding party, and 4-5 Bride & Groom photos when it started POURING. We ran inside and shortened cocktail hour so Sam & Larissa could visit with their guests and get to dinner! The rain finally stopped, and when we went back out for our sunset photos, we were greeted with a thick, moody fog.  I typically am not a moody photographer, but oh my goodness- these moments between the two of them alone, were beautiful and so romantic! 

Larissa was SO laid back and happy all day- seriously my IDEAL bride! I love brides that are joyful and laid back! They're able to fully enjoy their day and not be stressed out by the little details! They hired an amazing team of vendors & were able to fully trust and be present in all the moments of their big day!

Weekend Update: Central Virginia Wedding Photographer

Happy Monday Friends! I know Mondays get a bad rap, and I understand- but I get so excited for Mondays because it's back to routine and I get to look through the fun wedding images from the weekend! And today, I am suuuuper thrilled to share the photos from this weekend's wedding! Sam & Larissa got married at the Wintergreen Resort, which is just about an hour from the Lynchburg area, and it's such a gorgeous place to get married! 

These two are just beyond cute together, and they were both so happy all day- and goodness it shows in their photos! I had the hardest time picking a few sneak peek photos to edit early this morning! The weather held off just in time for their ceremony to end before the clouds rolled in and it started pouring! The rain finally lifted & we went out for "sunset photos" which were more like fog photos- but oh my goodness was it beyond beautiful! I cannot wait for the full blog post later this week!

Weekend Update: Pippin Hill Wedding Sneak Peek

Oh my goodness- this Monday I am exhausted, but in the very best way possible! Saturday, I headed to Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards for Lenis & Becky's wedding! It was a beautiful, beautiful day! Then on Sunday, I headed to Holly Field Manor in Richmond, Virginia to shoot with my dear friend, Lindsay. Working with her is always such a joy, and she has the sweetest couples!

Intimate Sherando Lake Wedding || James & Claudia

James & Claudia planned the most perfect wedding celebration! They decided to do an elopement-style at a place that was near and dear to their hearts, Sherando Lake in Central Virginia. They had only the closest family members and friends there with them, and wait until you see the views! When we were there for their engagement session, they talked about how they just wanted a relaxing day to celebrate while feeling like they were at a back-yard BBQ and man, did they pull it off- plus they had a food truck serving dinner for everyone! YUM!!

On Sunny Slope Farm Wedding in Harrisonburg, VA || Cj & Danielle

Oh guys! This wedding is so gorgeous!! I am so excited to be sharing today!! Cj and Danielle got married at On Sunny Slope Farm in Harrisonburg, Virginia on Saturday! They were so lucky with the most amazing April weather, warm, sunny and in the 70's! Especially considering that it snowed in Central Virginia just 5 days before! 

I first met Danielle last year when I was visiting one of my old brides, turned friend, in Florida. Dani was her son's nanny and I was SO excited when she called and told me she had gotten engaged just a few months after my visit! We did their engagement photos out in the Harrisonburg area & I quickly fell in love with DJ & Dani as a couple! 

Our Associate Shooters, Rhiannon & Heather did such an amazing job! I loved going through all their images and seeing Cj & Dani's wedding- it really was almost like I was there! From seeing the excitement of the getting ready room, the anticipation of the first look, the joy of the ceremony, and the celebration during the reception! Dani made the most stunning bride- and wait until you see these sunset portraits! Oh my goodness! 

Congratulations CJ & Danielle! We are all so excited for you guys! Enjoy your honeymoon so so much! I cannot wait to hear how it goes!!
