Weekend Update: Stir-Crazy, Nesting, and A normal weekend || Lynchburg, VA Wedding Photographer

We were all feeling a little stir-crazy with the amount of time that we've been stuck in the house between holidays, and snow days, so this weekend, I had to get out of the house. Even to just wander the aisles and not see the walls in my own house. I am so beyond ready to get back into routines- even if that does mean waking up early to get Emerson to school in the mornings. ;) 

Once we got that out of our system, we were able to get some work in the nursery done, and work on some of my January goals for 2018- really simplifying the things that are in our home & finding a place for everything! I've had to take it slow due to some health things- baby bump sometimes has different ideas for what we can do in a day than I'd like, but we're making real progress and I love seeing the house really come together after such a busy season when we moved in! 

I'm really loving our slower weekends as a family & being able to do things together as a family. It's a nice reminder after a crazy fall season where I have weddings and photoshoots almost every weekend.  This is what normal people do on the weekends! haha!

A little December Snow! Lynchburg, Virginia Photographer

I'm just a little jealous of the east coast and where we grew up today! It's SO cold and windy here, yet they're getting all the gorgeous snow! I am NOT a fan of the cold weather, but if it's going to be this frigid, there needs to be some snow so we have an excuse to stay home and snuggle! ;) And eat all the junk food. 

A few weeks ago, Lynchburg got a beautiful surprise and a little bit of snow- which is so early for this area in this season! It truly added a whole level of Christmas Spirit! We normally don't get snow in Central Virginia until later January and February, so having it early was magical! Plus, it didn't stick around too much so the roads were clear and safe! I know I'm super late in posting these, but I'm just sharing as I am there in the snow in spirit! ;) 

A big shoutout to Michael who had a great attitude and didn't once complain about the fact I was making us late to leave (we were heading to Christmas Town at Busch Gardens!!) and he kindly found something for me to set my camera on, helped set up the self-timer, and still had a smile on his face. He's a keeper, I'm telling ya! (PS: Emmie is in her Jammies because we had JUST gotten back from Santa mini's with Liz Cook Photography!) 

So, I want to know! Do you have snow where you're at? I mean, even Florida has snow right now and Virginia doesn't! What is going on?! Send me photos and some warm, cozy days where the family is off! ;) And then send summer!! 

Lynchburg Family and Maternity Photographer || The Griffin Family

Photographing friends & their families are so special to me! I've been taking photos of the Griffin Family for a few years now- ever since she was pregnant with Hamilton, and it's always such an honor to document milestones each year and seeing how much their little one is changing! Jenn is pregnant with baby #2 now and due in March (yay March babies!) and is seriously just stunning! 

We met out at the Ivy Creek Park in Lynchburg, Virginia this week! It was the perfect location, with the sun setting, the gorgeous trees & lake! I need to remember this one more! They dressed all up for me and looked AMAZING & Jenn had a flower crown made by Foraged & Cut for some individual photos and I am obsessed! 

Thanks Griffin Family for always trusting me to document your family! I know it's cliche' but it really is such an honor when there are so many people you can choose from! Love you guys!!

Lynchburg, VA Family Photographer || Gavin Family

I'm so excited to be sharing this family session with you today! The  Gavin family had me laughing our entire session- those boys have some big, fun personalities that is just so fun to see! I was SO happy to see the sun shining, the wind died down, and it wasn't too cold out for their Saturday morning session! They wanted a natural environment with some pretty trees, fields so I had the perfect spot in mind in Lynchburg, Virginia! 

Sometimes with family sessions, it can be difficult to get little ones to open up and smile, but oh my goodness we did not have that problem with these two cuties! They were wiiiiiiide open and we all laughed together at their goofiness! We got lots of photo options for them- ranging from the entire family, just Mom and Dad (something that's always needed!!), individuals of the boys, the brothers together! Oh it was a blast! I loved getting to know this family & know you're going to love these photos too!!

Lynchburg Family Photographer || The Offield Family

I cannot believe we're a week into November and just now hitting the peak of the fall colors! I'm not complaining though- it's so gorgeous- I just wish we could keep it around just a little bit longer! ;) 

I am so excited to share some photos from the Offield Family's Photo Session! I loved photographing them previously and that they made getting updated family photos done while they were in town! Krista ran the Mountain Masochist 50 miler the day before AND she freaking got first place. So, how she was standing the next day is beyond me, but she was there and looked amazing and wearing heels! Can we say super woman here? 

These kids have grown up SO much since I last photographed them, and oh my goodness did they have me laughing!! You know with all those boys there were some potty jokes mixed in!
